Meaningful Learning

I have found that a class discussion in which everyone asks and answers questions is effective. In high school we called this a Socratic seminar, but it does not have to be as formal as the name. Students come to class prepared to give and get more insight. A deeper understanding of the material can be found by open discussion. In my education classes last semester, all we did was share our thoughts and bounce ideas off of one another. Our class discussions were interesting because we could always chooses to include the information in our pedagogy or not.
Regardless of the way I learn, I need to incorporate all of the learning styles into my teaching method. As discussed above, the cooperation style is only one of the group of meaningful learning. Society is growing rapidly today and people have to continuously adapt. Meaningful learning will happen when you are not aware that you are learning. Technology will play one of the most important roles in my classroom and my student's lives. Based off of "Meaningful Learning," the best approach is to take on whatever comes naturally and be open for change.
